Review - 1984
The other project that caught my eyes was the "1984" by Iqra and Alex. They chose the book which is one of the most popular books of all time and they did the proper justice to it. They augmented the 3d models related to book on its front and back cover.
The book have a very gritty setting where the government is controlling every aspect of life (they even re-wrote the history of that fictional world). The models we see as the front cover augmentation are related to the stories.
3D models:-
The models were well modeled and had animations for their quirks. The model that I liked most was teh Helicopter model. It was awesome that it had those realistic shader maps and it was very life like. The animations of propellers were on point. The 3D model of the clock was another interesting thing I liked. It looked like it is working as a real clock. It also had a script attached to it. The eye/camera device at the center gives the perfect poetic feeling of the book because in book every action of citizens was being watched by the government.
Audio:-
The ambient sound of the helicopter was very suiting and realistic to listen to. The sound of introduction and reviews were very clear and I had no trouble listening to those.
Transitions:-
The transition is unique here as the scene changed itself after clicking the virtual button. the transition to reviews was also smooth and I had no problem pressing the virtual buttons ( they worked on the first hover of the finger itself). The reviews were also shown very differently from other projects as they were vertical to the book.

Frame Rate:-
The application maintained the same framerate of 30fps throughout the whole testing period which also shows that models were perfect for the AR application as they had the optimal amount of vertices so that there is not much pressure on CPU and GPU.
Reviews and cover Info:-
The cover information was at a unique angle so that users have no problem reading it which I think shows creativity. The reviews had all the elements required in the project like the rating system, the date of the review and the name of the reviewer. The quality of video reviews was on point too and the video was very clear to see and listen to. Also, the materials of video reviews were very well placed so the user has no problem watching them.
The Website:- The website of Alex and Iqra is very well designed and has all the features required for the project like video Github repository link and assets information.
Conclusion:-
I really liked the choice of the book here. 1984 really portrays a world that seems truly dystopian and has its setting in fictional/alternative London. The totalitarian theme is very gritty and keeps you on the edge while reading. The AR augmentations do total justice to the book and give you the same gritty feeling, which I think they should get praise for.
The video review was well done and so were the written reviews. I think these type of augmentations can really convince someone to read the book.
